The PHA must establish policies in its Administrative Plan which state how the agency will
address families who have requested a move and were denied due to lack of funding once the
PHA has determined funds are available for those moves. At a minimum, the PHA policy
How the PHA will inform families of the PHA’s local policy regarding moves denied
due to lack of funding; i.e., information contained in briefing packets or in a letter to
the tenant at the time the move is denied.
BHHC will notify families regarding moves denied under the Portability Guidance by:
Information contained in the Briefing Packet and by US Mail to the last known address.
How long the family’s request to move will be open for consideration and how the
PHA will notify families with open requests when funds become available.
The maximum time that a family’s request to move will be open for consideration after a denial is issued due to lack of funding will be no more than 12 calendar months and/or the next available funding cycle. Should the family’s time limit expire prior to additional funding, the family must resubmit another request to move under the guidelines according to Chapter 10 of the BHHC Administrative Plan.
Prior to the Maximum time limit BHHC will notify families of available funds and/or their need to resubmit another request under the guidelines according to Chapter 10 of the Administrative Plan.
